It has many components, but in the end it is focused on gaining alignment and commitment.

We like to begin with the end in mind. If the organization achieves its vision, what will have been accomplished? With this as a backdrop, we begin the work of crafting a strategic roadmap.

Diagnostics

It is essential that we understand your business and goals before we can be effective.  We begin by looking in the rear view mirror. What got you here? What are the successes thus far? What has gone well for the organization? What do various stakeholders say?

SWOT Analysis

In an interactive session we challenge the leaders to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats facing the business. The output from this activity helps to inform the overall strategy.

Where to play and how to win

Strategy is about making choices. Organizations tend to chase shiny new things and it is strategic drift that gets companies into trouble. We help leaders to be explicit in where they focus and how to leverage the competitive advantages of the business.

Identifying the TAM

What is the total addressable market for your product or service? Defining the size and scope of the market helps organizations to see market opportunities.

Competitive Landscape Analysis

An understanding of the competitive landscape is very important. A competitive analysis provides a gut check and realism about where the opportunities lie.

Leadership Alignment

In our work conducting hundreds of strategic planning sessions around the world, we have found that our process has a second outcome that is equally important to arriving at a strategic plan. The second outcome is the alignment of the leadership team. Because the team co-creates the strategy, we achieve buy-in and alignment. While a good strategy is important, execution and alignment are often the differentiators between organizational success and failure.
